Very clear copper coloured body with a thin, off-white head that leaves a thin lace on the sides. Aroma of crisp grass with a light bite of alcohol, cleanser, herbal notes and some flowers, with a minimal sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong rich astringent malts dominate up front, with a grassiness that's dry, but fairly pervasive with a crisp citrus and cleanser element and some slight sweetness, but fairly minimal. Aftertaste shows the pungent, astringent quality with a nice, crisp, very bitter hop note, but soft enough to be easy-ish drinking with some nice malt body that is balanced, however very pungent and one-dimensional, with a pungent bite, but still nice and reminiscent of IPAs of old. Overall, a crisp, astringent and very bittered IPA with a cleanser and citrus bite, but nothing too complex. Nice to try and robust - just like the East Coast Imperial IPAs from the mid 2000s! Nice, but without complexity - this one was nice to sample fresh-ish! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Union Square, 14th Street), New York on 02-May-2021 for US$4,99, canned on 28-September-2020, sampled at my house here in Washington on 08-June-2021.

16oz can from Half Time. Dark amber with a light haze, small foamy head. Aroma offers a nice classic hoppy riff followed by sweet caramel malts. Malts pick up in the taste, toffee, sweet, the hops rolling up in the back for a sticky bitterness. Really nice.

Pours amber with a thick white head. Aroma is citrusy, slightly floral. Taste has orange, smooth citra elements on a sweet malt base. Palate has a very smooth, hoppy finish that disguises how heavy this beer is. Very good.

Can, from City Beer. Pours lightly cloudy golden with large foamy off-white head, very faint citrus peel aroma, medium carbonation, mildly sweet citrusy taste with faint pineapple flavor, smooth body, long finish. Mellow, smooth DIPA. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dogs and Boats on 19 Dec 2023 at 15:46 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: Can, from a Costco. Pours lightly cloudy dark yellow-amber with a large foamy light beige head, faint citrus aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter lemon peel taste with faint mango and a little bitterness at the end, thin smooth body, long citrusy finish. The ABV is so well accommodated, it flows like nectar!
