Clear golden blond colour with small off white head. Aroma is belgian yeasty, quite fruity, and quite floral too. Smells quite bitter too. Taste is not so so bitter, indistinct fruity again, quite malty and dry. Herbal element too. Quite a strange taste which is quite nice. Maybe grapefruit and something tropical sweet like mango, but I can't really put my finger on it. There is a whiff of booze about it, much more than the %, which I guess comes from the sake element. Pretty nice and quite interesting.

Can from Masuyo’s back in 2013. Belgian yeast-like nose with lots of fruity esters: peach and apple mainly. The koji is there on the palate and there is a funky slightly sour thing going on mid palate. Finish is slightly peppery with more fruit.

Ok I had this way back in the day and am frankly rating from memory. It was a slight step above a typical macro-lager with a bit more body and definitely a more fruity aroma and flavor. It was ok but not terribly distinctive, the recent ones in the series have gotten more adventurous.

Can at Daikaya. Hazy yellow color, small white head. Aroma is bready, lightly spiced summer fruit. Taste is light spice, subtle fruit, dry finish. Subtle and understated.

Very interesting beer - the rice adds a nice zing to this Belgian-inspired beer. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Smells a little like booze with some fermented fruitiness. Sweet and a little bitter with light florals. Can at an Izakaya in DC’s Chinatown.

Can bought at Tanakaya Liquor store in Tokyo, Japan. A golden coloured pour with a small white head on top. Hoppy, fruity, medicinal aroma. Tastes fruity, perfume like, slightly Belgian influenced, some bitterness. Quite a unique Japanese beer that I rather enjoyed.

Can. Nice nose—Belgian-esque yeast, citrus hop, grass. Spcy, bready. Deep gold color with lace. Very fruity flavor, yeast and a bit perfumey. Dry, bitter finish. Rather strange, perfume-like sweet fruity aspect. Weird, though interesting. And better than expected.
