Set your senses ablaze with Tinder, a smoldering Rauchbier that kindles moderately malty sweetness and robust smokiness. Brewed with Bamberg beechwood-smoked malt, this medium-bodied lager ignites distinct campfire smoke flavors and aroma.

Sample from 75 cl. bottle. Slightly hazy, amber-golden colour with a thin, white head. Fruity aroma with smoked notes and caramel malts. Taste is bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with smoked notes. OK.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of beechwood smoke, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of beechwood smoke, lemons, caramel, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

750ml bottle. Tan-copper body, looks filtered. Nice steady, foamy white/off-white head. Classic and well done, reminds me of Spezial Lager. Medium bodied, really easy going. Pretty much nails it. Pleasantly devoid of gimmicks. Would love to see this in sixpacks.

Pretty good but I’d love to see this in smaller bottles. Whew that was a lot of sweet smoky lager. Flavor was like a nice smoky campfire, and smoky smoked sausage. Flavor similar smoke and meat, savory, but also very sweet with toffeeish melanoidin malts. Initially effervescent, it seemed to lose liveliness quickly (I didn’t nurse it) and was fairly flat, sweet and dull/heavy on the palate by the end of the 750. Poured initially with a nice head but subsequent pours lacked foam. Pure amber color.

Meaty smoke aroma, little roasted notes, just smoke. Crystal clear amber thick yellow head, good lace. Smoke, sweet lemon candy. Odd mix, and maybe a slight exaggeration, but this seems very sweet. The sweet smoke subsides, leaving just a mild lemongrass finish. Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth. Very odd beer, and not terribly enjoyable at first, but it doesn’t take long to become better acquainted with this. There’s no way you could appreciate this beer from anything less than the 750ml bottle it comes in.

True to the Bamberg style, this rauchbier is spot on. Murky light brown, with minimal head, smells like smoked meat and fireplaces. Taste is smooth, with all of the emphasis on the smoked malts. Just perfect.
