Best Bitter is considered a less interesting beer style than today’s modern IPA’s and pales. This beer tries to bridge the gap between morose and exciting. Whilst trying to hold on to traditional flavour profiles, the beer is slightly hazy due to can conditioning and expresses a greater hop aroma than most examples of the style.

Handpull cask at the Brew Shed, Retford. Brownish gold and clear with a small creamy off-white head. Leafy English hops dominate the aroma along with a caramel sweetness and Seville marmalade. Taste starts sweet bit the gentle happiness ushers ina balance that holds sway through to the finish. Light body with fairly soft carbonation. A wonderful find.
