India Black Ale (IBA) je mladi stil piva, ki se je najprej pojavil v ameriških domačih varilnicah (home brewed), njegove lastnosti pa so določili in izpilili pivovarji craft pivovarn. V osnovi je to ameriška različica Pale Ala s poudarjenim značajem temnega praženega slada, a brez značilne ostrine skoraj do oglja praženih zrn ječmena, kot je to značilno za stil Stout. Poudarek je na srednje lahkem telesu z nežnimi niansami okusov in vonjav popečenega kruha, kave in temne čokolade, ki se mešajo z okusi tropskega sadja in citrusov ameriških sort hmelja,
V pivovarni Tektonik smo zvarili Nelsona z dodatkom praženega biskvitnega in temnega karamelnega slada. Značilno ogleno barvo je prispeval oluščeni in zelo temno praženi ječmenov slad, ki pa nam je ravno zaradi odstranjenih luščin prihranil rezko ostrino. Kot se za ta stil spodobi, je izdatno suho hmeljenje v posodah za zorenje (dry hopping), še dodatno izoblikovalo polno in svežo aromo tropskega sadja.
V pivovarni Tektonik smo zvarili Nelsona z dodatkom praženega biskvitnega in temnega karamelnega slada. Bottled at TNOD(U)RBSG2016. Dark brown, rich head. Black currant, licorice and citrus up front. Mid dry with medium body and rounded, spritzy mouthfeel. Coffee, licorice and black currant sorbet. Really bitter finish. Well made.

Sampled from bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Gathering Ulfborg 2016, Day 1. Very hazy dark amber to brown color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, earthy, dusty, brown malts, malt bitter. Not a very good black IPA imo, not nearly enough (detectable) hoppiness in there.

Bottle, 6%. Hazy very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, spicy, hop and a little dusty. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, spicy, little harsh, earthy and medium bitter.

Bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering, fonefan. Nice creamy head with excellent duration. Color is close to black. Aroma and taste are rich hops, caramel, roast malt, chocolate and has a nice creamy bitter finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy red brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, roasted malt and light hoppy. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 190816

Bottle, 330 ml from beerfest in Brežice. Shared with JFK10000. Pours black with beige head. Very nice hoppy fruity aroma with hint of chocolate. Roasted malts, hops, pine, chocolate. Bitter dry finish. Medium bodied. Very good.

Pours very deep ruby, almost black color with medium sized creamy off-white head. Long lasting and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Wonderful smell of fruits and hops. Medium body with regular carbonation. Oily texture. Lovely bitter taste. IBU of 64, balanced just right for perfect refreshment. Aroma is rich, bursting with hops and fruits. Mango, passion fruit, bitter orange. Subtly burned malts in the background. Long, slightly dry and bitter finish. Overall, excellent brew. Absolutely delicious.

Dark brown to black colored, medium tan frothy head, good lasting. Aroma is of malt, some caramel but mostly black and roasted malt, moderate citrus and some fruity hops Taste is medium sweet chocolate, roasted and black malt, almost burnt, moderate citrusy hops, medium+ roasted and hoppy bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, oily. Strong roast, the hoppy aroma could be stronger, still very good! (bottle, MC Klub, Brezice)

Frischer, weich grasiger Antrunk. Mild herb, dunkles Malz ist erkennbar, röstige Noten werden bis zuletzt durch das Malz unterdrückt. Feine Karbonisierung, steigend grasig mit floralen Aromen. Dann bitterer, würzig, dunkles schokoladiges Malz. Gut - auch, wenn mir der Malzeinfluss zu gering ist. 11/11/11/10/10/11

Bottle kindly donated by Ogi, many thanks.Very dark brown color with huge light beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, light citrus hops. Taste, citrus hops with grapefruit, roasted malt, coffee. Good.
