Robe brune très foncée avec une mousse nappant tout juste la surface, ce stout démarre honnêtement. Le nez nous met encore un peu plus en confiance sur un joli mélange de chocolat, mélasse, poire, prune, noisette agrémenté d’une touche de whisky très à propos. C’est à la fois complexe et subtil. On retrouve ces deux composantes à la dégustation avec, en attaque un bon équilibre malt/houblon et des arômes de café, chocolat, poire et mélasse. La texture fine n’a pas ma préférence, ainsi qu’un café très moyennement développé que j’apprécie plus intense pour un stout. La deuxième bouche est légèrement épicée mais reprend sinon la base présente en attaque. L’arrière bouche est quelque peu surprenant, davantage sur l’amertume et moins aromatique. Elle donne cependant du contraste à l’ensemble. La suite est à mon sens le plus agréable en présentant des notes de whisky chaleureuses, alliées à des arômes de café et chocolat. Si la longueur est acceptable, je trouve la présence en bouche un peu limite. L’alcool à 9 % est très honnête, ainsi que l’amertume qui avec 54 d’IBU est bien dosé avec un sucre pas trop présent. En définitive bière intéressante, bien travaillée par la brasserie Cabardouche.

Very dark brown with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of dark malts. Some liquorice and dark chocolate too

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donker bruin bier met een lichte bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige smaak, met hints van koffie en chocolade.

Bottle @ Billie’s Bier Kafetaria. Black colour, brown foam. Nose of coffee, roasted malts, sweet malty caramel notes. Good stout.

Bottle 330ml. @ pre. Danish (Ulfborg) Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, TNO(U)DRBSG16 @ fonefan & Brugmasia House. [ As Stout Mokke ].Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, moderate yeasty, minerals, bubble gum. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, bubble gum, dark malt, sweet malt, belgium yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20160819]

Bottled at TNOD(U)RBSG2016. Dark brown, small head. Bell pepper and milk chocolate up front. Mid sweet with medium-full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Tobacco and leather, metal and ash. Resiny bitter finish. Edgy.

Sampled @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, Friday, Day 1 33cl bottle. Pours hazy dark orange brown colour with a mid-sized good lasting off-white head. Aroma of strong dark malt, ripe red fruits. Taste of dark mild roasted malt, toffee, red fruits, nothing special.

Bottle, 9%. Very dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is malt, yeast, roasted malt, dark fruit and dusty. Flavour is roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, dusty, medium sweet, chocolate, little harsh, warming with notes of alcohol.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is dry, malty, roasted malt and chalk. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Not my thing. Oily. 190816
