Yes, this is near 8% and you know it. Darker but not brown. Big strong somewhat sweet deifficuklt peaty medicine. Sweet cloying volatile alarming aroma as well as a sweet cloying finish. Not impressed with thus style in general.

On tap at the source. In a snifter comes a dark brown elixir with an impish off white head that shows remarkable staying power. Rich sweet burnt caramel and brown sugars with hints of smoke and dark dried fruits. Medium to thick body with a light carbonation. Very nice after dinner sipper. The board at the bar had this at 9%

Growler on the RBWG bus, thanks! Pours a near clear amber orange with a tan head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains with a bit of earthiness and toffee. Flavor has a nice swee grain and toffee combination with a hint of caramel.

Deep copper with spotty lace. Caramelized sugar and malt nose. Taste is peat, toffee sugar and dried fruit. Has a slight smokiness in the finish. This batch was listed as 8.8 %. You can pick it up only when warm. And I did feel it after the glass was gone. Decent but not amazing. Still worth a try.

A reddish copper ale with a thin off white head. A light butterscotch aroma with a bit of burned caramel. In mouth, a lightly bruned malt with treacle, vinous notes, a bit oily, not bad. Warming alcohol. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 27 2009.
