Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a bottle. Clear ruddy brown color with a medium light beige head that dissipates gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of chocolate, malt and spice. Medium to full body with flavors of roasted malt, cocoa, rye malt and a bit of spice. The finish is sweet and spicy with a chocolate and pepper aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap. Pours deep clear mahogany, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is rich and chocolate. Flavor is light plus sweet,, light plus bitter, rye bite, loads of cocoa and dark sugar without high sweetness, rich and roasty. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting. Almost a chili heat on the finish.

Bottle - Cocoa and dark chocolate notes with some nitty notes. Deep jet brown with almost no head. Dark chocolate, tons of cocoa and some spice notes. Very nice.

Bottle shared by Pinsky, 10/28/15. Dark brown color with a light brown head. Chocolate malts come through on the aroma. Spice and a little coffee. Flavor-wise, the spice really dominates. Heavy peppery/spice and heat are number one, while the chocolate is a strong two. Not what I expected. I thought the chocolate would be stronger, but I still like this beer.

22 oz. bottle, pours deep dark brown / black with a small tan head and loads of chunky sediment. Nose brings out a good mix of cocoa, cinnamon and chilis. Flavour brings out a good mix of chocolate and spicy peppers upfront, with a touch of cinnamon further back. Well-balanced, with the spiciness pretty prominent but not detracting. There is a ton of sediment in here that becomes rather nasty towards the finish. Good beer, but not really to my taste.

Draft 12 oz pour at The Collective. Pours a near black with a tan fizz ring head. Sweet sugar caramel malt aroma. Flavor has a whole lot going on. Has a spice to it, which I love, but also has a sweet cherry tone to it. Trying to have a sour note. A lot of the spice kick comes in late. Chile pepper like. Suprised. Very interesting. Big chocolate background. Has a burn to it that I’m unsure if ist the alcohol or the pepper. Or both. Either way, incredible beer.
