The most approachable of our ales, Brawler is malt forward and delicately hopped for a knockout flavor. Its smooth character, hints of caramel and toast, and remarkable drinkability define this ruby colored brew as a true session ale. Perfect for when you want to go a few rounds.

A dark orange amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet butterscotch malt with buttery character. In mouth, a sweet watery butterscotch malt with faint British hops. On tap at Iron Monkey, Dec. 31 2012.

Draft @ the Fox and the Hound, 13 Oct 2012. Clear copper color, decent lasting white head. Malt and grassy nose. Light malts, light caramel and the big focus on English hops. It would remind me of an English Pale Ale but the dry hopping gives a way more American feel. You can certainly drink a lot of this if you wanted to. Very easy to drink with low ABV.

On tap at Philadelphia Airport. Deep copper with a ring of white head; weak, malty aroma; the taste is the saem with a touch of caramel. This didn’t remind of an English Mild!

12oz bottle. Mild, medium body. Fruity English Ale yeast, maybe some amber malt. Mellow, some toasty malt. Maybe not quite true to style, but still rather sessionable and English-like. OK, not so memorable.

Burned toffee nose ringed with cherries. Dark copper, thin yellow head. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Malty and dry, not very intense. Subtle hints of cherries. Vanilla finish. The flavor doesn’t do much for me, but this beer was enjoyable in other ways.
