This beer is a balancing act. On one hand, it's assertively hopped with our favourite punchy
varieties - on the other, it's built on a base of light malts and rice. Pouring a surprisingly light colour, the hops jump out with sweet citrus, pungent tropical fruit, and dank pine. It's a modern West Coast IPA that packs a lot of flavour into a crisp, drinkable package.

473ml can. Pours a clear yellow gold with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces nicely. Aroma of crackery pale malt, grapefruit and cannabis. Sweet fruity flavour of biscuity pale malt, grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemongrass and pine resin in a crisp, dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Clean and easy to drink.

473 ml can. Pours a bright amber with very light head. Nose is full of dank old style hops, some citrus and biscuity malts. Flavors of pine, resin, spice, bitter lemon and more biscuity malt. Long bitter finish. A bit too much in the dank dept for me; perhaps the malt base should be bigger to balance. But otherwise very nice.

473mL can, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Nose brings out quite a pronounced piney hops character, a touch of oily resins, and light, crisp crackery malt. Flavour is much the same, with big piney hops upfront in classic 00s fashion, light oily resins, a touch of spicy hop tang from the Riwaka, backed with a reasonably crisp biscuity malt underbelly. Really nice classic pine character with just enough of that Riwaka. And for the price ($2.50/can after tax), this one is hard to beat value-wise.
