Pour is a black with a large creamy tan head. Aroma is a decent enough roast and char malt combo. Flavor is more roasted malt with a cola like sweetness bringing up the rear. Finish is quite dry and chalky. Adequate dry stout.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear brown with a creamy beige head. An OK, easygoing stout, with notes of brown bread, faint cocoa, leafy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with lingering impressions of toasted bread.

Sample at the tap room. Pours nearly opaque black with a little brown around the edges. Medium tan head that diminishes steadily, and small patches of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and hops. Medium body with flavors of burnt malt, dark chocolate and mild hops. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Bruisin' Ales, 12/31/14
Aroma: The aroma is heavy burnt malts, roasted coffee, and some dark chocolate
Appearance: The pour is brown-black, with a small tan head and some drippy lace streaks
Flavor: The flavor is strongly burnt and fairly bitter, black coffee, not much sweetness
Palate: The body is medium-full, with average carbonation, and a lengthy and rather dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a reasonably solid, though fairly one dimensional beer. It is much like drinking bitter, burnt, black coffee. Otherwise, there isn't a ton here. Still though, it is decently tasty.
