Busch Light

In spite of it all, every time I encounter a new macro light lager I enter with an open mind - no prejudice, no hate, no expectations. Just let the beer happen, let it do what it’s going to do. Is this a beer I can believe in? Poured chilled from a can it has styrofoamy white head and heavily carbonated champagne-like body. Sharp cardboard aroma, not too disgusting but very much the dirty lager hops that one expects from the macros. Flavour is sadly lacking - there is pretty much no flavour here. Maybe a vague hop note on the end, with a smooth mouthfeel. The abv is higher than average I believe for a light, and it’s hidden well, and if you really had some patience you could get wasted on this. But while it’s not digusting, it’s incredibly boring.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a pale yellow-gold color with a huge creamy bright white head that lingered and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy, sweet and corny with touches of cardboard, grass and perfume. The flavor was faintly grainy and fairly sweet and tangy with a hint of perfume and a sour off presence underneath. Medium length finish. Light body. Bland.

Can in the hotel lobby, RBWG ’15, night 2 - 20/02/15. This beer was commandeered from a random woman I got chatting to in the lobby. She was happy to add to my rates, I gave her something good in exchange ! Clear pale godlen yellow with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pale malt, cereals, grain, faint lemon. Taste comprises pale malt, grain, straw, stale cornflakes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Garbage jus, Bud Light wins by 0.2.

I guess it’s not surprising that the night ended here. Not easy to follow up the Prairie Bomb and Boris the Crusher I had earlier, so it’s time to start once more at the bottom. Perhaps it tasted watery because of all the strong beers I had earlier. Or perhaps it’s just watery. Can.

So Busch beer is light enough, there is no need to get any lighter. Unless the point is to fit as much in your stomach as possible.

Busch Light, I’ve never done Busch Light for this website, well hey, no time like the right time to sit down with an old after hockey beer and discuss my findings.
I’ve either only ever had this straight outa the can or right outa the pint glass. Here goes.
The appearance is a super clear light yellow color with a rapidly dieing ten second head. Boy, is that carbonation rising ever so fast. Wow, almost like its screaming \"lemme outa here.\"
The smell - nothing. I’ve never had anything from this beer which is why I drank it after hockey games all of those years. Its water basically.
The taste, well, I just talked about the smell, there’s not really much else I can say.
The palate, it sat light, very light. Do I need to tell you how light this beer is?
Overall, Light Lager that is what this is. Honestly, I really don’t see the need to say anything else other than though I’m still playing adult league hockey, these days I tend to reach for other brews that’ll end up satisfying me a bit more.

Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain and hint of floral. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Can, 25oz. It’s a clear, pale golden beer with a small, white head. The aroma is kinda malty, in a very grainy, East German way. Some fruityness. There’s a very faint touch of bitterness in the flavor, with fruityness doing most of the work. Not that is’s much to be done. Some pale malt notes in the far, far back. Thin on the palate, low on bitterness, borderline one on palate score. Some finish. What a vaste of time and ingredients. 130811
