Clear red brown beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, cow fodder, dusty, bit sweet. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty watery, malty, little bitter, metallic touch. Aftertaste: hoppy, malty, metallic.

Bottled at TNOD(U)RBSG2016. Hazy nut brown, small head. Bready earthy nose. Dry with medium body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Licorice and earth, spicy and bready. Balanced bitter finish.

Sampled @ Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, Friday, Day 1 Pours hazy dark orange golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark malt, dark fruits, caramel. Taste of dark malt, ripe fruits, spices, caramel, long bitter finish.

Sampled from bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Gathering Ulfborg 2016, Day 1. Clear amber color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is off: malts, rotting wet leaves, moldy. In other words: it stinks. Taste malts, caramel, a slight sweet hint initially with a decent malt bitter finish. Well, as long as you don’t smell it it’s drinkable.

Strong kibble nose, hearty and decidedly not fruity. Ruby brown, clear, thin head. Kibble, tobacco, wood. Pumpernickel bread finish, hints of leather Medium body, moderate carbonation. Super rustic and a nice change of pace from all the fruity sour beers I’ve been having lately. Good example of a style that I normally don’t like very much.

0.5 l bottle as ’Freigeist Ehrenfelder Alt’ from ’REWE Budnik & Homberg’ (28 March 2016). Clear, dark red with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, tan to white head. Musty, sweetish and slightly roasty aroma of cardboard, caramel and nuts. Sweetish, slightly roasty taste of caramel, nuts, some bread and chocolate, followed by a short, slightly roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Decent, might be better fresh.
