Bouteille 37.5cl à Belgian Summer Beer Gathering, merci Siegfried.
BB 2011, date embouteillage illisible.

Bottle with cork 0,375ltr: Hazy golden colored brew with an nicely accessible acidity, good hints of refreshing sour apples. More earthiness make it great, but this is an commercial brewery and this is their best.

Draft gueuze glass at A La Mort Subite in Brussels, Belgium. Served as Gueuze Sur Lie which seems to be an alternate name, The pour is a clear amber copper with a small foamy off white head. The aroma is soft funk, citric and a hint of wheat. The taste is soft gentle gueuze flavor, lemon citric then moves towards funk yeast and finishes with more funk, that has a little bit of bathroom character. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft carbonation and the funk citric finish. Nice.

750ml shared with Ryan. Vintage 2012. Served in the amazing wooden basket made, probably, from the wine wooden box. It served that many bottles, apparently, that its handler feels like it's covered by laquer, while it has never been in reality. Appearance: a bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: smells like a Belgian Tripel, no funk at all, just some Belgian yeasts, some caramel, and sweet flowers. Taste: low carbonation, mix of lambic funk and tripel. Overall: interesting.

Poured from 750mL bottle (2012 vintage). Lightly hazed gold with small white head. Malty, very feint funk, metallic note, flat no carbonation.

Clear and transparent intense orange, with one and a half finger of quite dense head. Surprisingly persistent for the style, leaves very nice lacing. Aroma has a quite obvious, soft dough-like base, followed by lactic and citric sour notes, with lemon most evident. Rustic notes are very much in check (barely noticeable actually), but there's a nice mineral feel in the background. Taste notes follow the aroma closely, with an overall balance that leans towards the sweeter end of the stlye. Sourness is actually average per style, but there's more sweetness than usual. Ligh to medium bodied with average or slightly sub-average carbonation, resulting in a quite easy, semi-smooth mouthfeel. Overall: this is an easy take on the gueuze style, a beer with a soft and highly drinkable character. It's not very deep, but it doesn't lack refinement. So, it's actually pretty good at being an easy gueuze. [as mentioned, this was sweeter than style average. Ingredients list mentioned sugar. So, how can it be labeled oude gueuze?. I don't necessarily mind a bit of sugar, just asking]
