tap at the brewpub, fall 2013 - Pours dark brown with a small, lingering, light tan head. It smells of roast coffee and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with more chocolate and coffee and a medium to full body. Quite good.

Sample at Kurtkeller 005: Coffee-tastic 01 on 02/08/2014. Dark brown pour with a medium thin beige head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of coffee and butterscotch. Light to medium body with flavors of roast malt, caramel and mild coffee. The finish is sweet with a malt and mild coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.

Nice rich deep brown body with a thick, three centimetre tall light brown, slightly soapy head. Aroma of tons of complex notes - prunes, earth, dirt, grass, nuts, peat, roasted malt and of course - coffee. Medium-bodied; Assertive prune and pit fruit flavour at first with a good malt backbone behind and a nutty and slightly earthy finish. Aftertaste surprisingly thin with a bit of fruitiness noticeable, some lighter malt notes and a hint of grapes at the end. Overall, a good smelling and looking beer, but the flavour and especially the aftertaste simply disappoint. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from BevMo in San Bruno, California on 05-March-2012 for US$4.69 sampled a few days after returning from Hawaii, at home in Washington on 13-December-2012.

Bottle. Pours with a deep brown body with a creamy, but small brown head. Decent lace. Aromas are big, mocha, chocolate and coffee notes. Earthy, roasty. Baked bread. Beyond the earthy coffee note there is a bit of a Yoplait fake yogurt/vanilla smell (not lacto). Vanilla, lightly vegital. Flavors are roasty, earthy, tobacco. A bit astringent towards the back end. Lightly metallic as well. Bready, biscuity, nutty (almost a victory nuttiness). Vanilla and more coffee beans. Pretty bitter overall. Brown sugar. A bit of vegital coffee. Medium to light bubbles. On the thinner side of things. Decent.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours ruby brown with a transient light tan head. Strong, strong coffee aroma. There’s so much coffee in it that it suggests chewy bitter. Amps down a bit with time. Simple and tasty. Extreme beer.
