Draft at the source. Cloudy pale yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of dusty lemons and white pepper. Taste is funky and tart lemon. Nice.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, citrus fruity esters, and rustic notes. Flavour brings out traditional rustic farmhouse notes, fruity esters, a little banana, a little clove, and some funk. Really solidly made saison, with just the right balance of notes. Excellent stuff.

Kinda sad this one doesn’t have any brett, him and I are good friends. Ah well. It’s a bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy blonde with a big head (which kinda reminds me of this girl...), white fluffy head a couple of fingers with some pretty active carbonation going on inside that there glass. I suspect it’s the cloud floating on top of this thing, but I’m not getting much smell off this, some bready malts, some Belgian yeast. Taste lighter, with some apricots, wheat, little sourness, kinda wishing that brett was in the mix. Overall a very drinkable beer, I would almost say this would be a good all-afternooner but at 7% you might be hard pressed to really session this fella.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a big white head. Nose is yeast with spice and fruit notes including apple, pear and lemon. Light sweet start with a nice balance of pepper and lemon zest with banana. Some light bitterness in the finish. Quite enjoyable.

(500ml custom-label bottle from the brewery, no Brett) Pours a hazy straw yellow, decent head of white foam with a bit of spotty lace left behind. Aroma yeast-forward, some light banana esters, fresh white bread, a little bit of spice, also some lemon, herb/grass, touch of grain. Flavour has a little bit of malt sweetness to begin but already bitter/tart, which builds throughout. Some spice, lemon/orange, hay and herb type floral hops, bready yeast. Quite dry and slightly bitter by the end with grain and the dusty yeast character clinging to the top of the mouth that I associate with a to-style Belgian saison. Mouthfeel quite light, carb effervescent and prickly. I think this is a good take on a traditional farmhouse saison without spice additions, serious funk or any other tricks. Nothing sticks out, but very competently made and refreshing.

Bottle: Poured a hazy light yellow color ale with a super large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral and light grassy notes with deep rustic malt flavours. Taste is also dominated by deep rustic malt flavours with limited sweetness and some grainy notes. Light dry and floral hoppy notes are also discernable. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Well brewed done maybe a tad too much grainy malt notes for my liking.

This Saison poured a cloudy bright yellow colour with a quick living, bright white head. Scents include lemon, orange and pineapple citrus, cloves, hay and leather. First swig was smooth with flavours of citrus hops most predominant. As many citrus flavours and scents in this one. Light clove flavor too. Finish is mellow with medium / low carbonation and high citrus hopp flavor lingering...

Nice, well-rounded saison. Better than the samurai. Pours slightly cloudy blond with good lacing, a little head. Aromas of banana, clove, some barnyard funk and hay mulch. Average carbonation. Finishes sweet and sour. Tap at brewpub.

Bottle - Citrus, lemon, grass and yeast. Cloudy gold with a thin head. Effervescent, citrus, hay and the typical yeast. Great farmhouse, perfect for a patio. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
