This red ale is brewed in traditional West Flanders style. A combination of light, crystal, and dark barley malt, wheat, and oats are brewed with local whole-cone hops and variety of select yeast and lactic bacteria. We age our red ale in oak barrels for a period of time to develop complex richness, soft tannins, and fruity tart character. The aged beer is then blended with young beer to create the desired balance of malt sweetness with a dry finish.

Bottle - Sour cherry and plum notes. Cloudy maroon with a decent beige head. Tart and acidic up front, light cherry notes and sour malt. Very tart up front but a pretty clean crisp finish. Not to complex but decent.

Bottle in Glenwood Springs hotel. Thanks to Steve_0. Pours a murky pinkish brown appearance with a light tan head. The aroma is twangy with some notes of CIB (olives and tomatoes), red grapes, and black cherries. Tart and veggie like. A little gooey. Herbal and piney. No thanks.

Bottle at home. Pours a nice dark red with a fizzy head. A lot of oak and sour fruit aroma. A variety of sour fruit flavor including cherry and cranberry. Intense sour up front, with a good, smoother sweet finish. Love my sours and this one did not disappoint.

Bottle: Absolutely gorgeous pour! A surprisingly large, but short-lived creamy beige head. Soon the head is gone leaving the shimmering auburn body. I love how nothing is overdone here; vinous, oak, yeast, tart/sour, and something that makes me think cinnamon. A good level of sour/tart keeps the pucker factor reasonable throughout the glass. A little dry on the finish, makes me think of peach skins, but overall very very nice. It’s simple, yet refined.

On draught at Brouwer’s Cafe during Logsdon Brewer’s Night on 09/10/2013: Cloudy reddish-brown color with a medium foamy beige head that recedes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, dark fruit and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of ripe fruit, earthy malt and oak. The finish is woody with an earthy and fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.
