Double Barrel STARVE: Exhibit H builds on our highest rated and most sought after Barleywine, back-filled into select Willett Family Estate Bourbon barrels and aged an additional 20 months.

- 40% Double Barrel Circle of Wolves — 24 months French Cognac, then 36 months Willett Bourbon
- 40% Maris Otter Barleywine — 22 months @samadamsbeer Utopias
- 20% Maris Otter Barleywine — 22 months Weller Bourbon
- Final blend — back-filled into Willett Family Estate Bourbon barrels for 20 more months

With portions aged over 8 years, this is an extremely well-cellared and distinctive Barleywine, and our highest ABV Barleywine to date at 19.5%. Notes of rich treacle, sticky toffee, chewy tobacco, milk chocolate covered raisins, smooth Cognac, roasted hazelnuts and restrained warming Bourbon. A one of a kind release that’s ready to drink now but built to cellar for years.

6 ounce at the Scott's Addition location - so dark ruby it is basically black - still pour, syrupy texture coming out of the tap - nose is deeply boozy, heavy on the Cognac, but the Willett is unmistakably there - oak is dense in the nose - very sweet, presenting like a dessert liqueur or port, edging into cloying territory - very heavy on the booziness, which I suppose is to be expected here, but I had the Double Barrel Pallbearer the other day and it wasn't nearly this boozy - a lot of vanilla, dark fruit, whiskey, Cognac, deep oak, tawny port - finish is syrupy and fairly alcoholic - it's a bit too much - I'd say it needs time, but everything in the blend is several years old - I guess it needs even more time, or maybe some lower abv young beer to blend into it - not unenjoyable, just...a lot!
