22 oz. bottle thanks to imtimrhodes. Pours clear, light orange with a nice, bubbly head. The aroma is corn, wheat, bread, spruce, and a little lemon. The flavor is mostly bitter, with a fair malt sweetness. The palate is light to medium, bubbly, and crisp. Overall, this was surprisingly good. Drinkable, subtle, and a good mouthfeel.

Whole Foods, P st, DC bomber ($6): Pours a deep gold with a quickly dissipating head. Grainy, almost dirty lager smell, but kind of cleaner... if that makes sense. The light hoppage has most resonance in the aroma. In the taste the hops are more bitter and add a nice German punch. In fairness, this beer doesn’t taste too different from its European cousins. It also has that heller bock taste going on in it. Still it is pretty smooth and eliminates many of the offensive elements that are occasionally found in such brews. Not much weizen going on here as far as I can tell.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 9 Aug 2011) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with tropical fruit, hay and a slightly sugary sweetness. Malty taste with notes of bread, tropical fruit, grass, hints of soap and a mild, grassy bitterness. More than medium body, fairly sweet. Nice one.

Bottle: Pale yellow with a small white head and light bits of lacing. Mild aroma is malts and florals. Clean mouthful is mostly malts, followed by a little bit of florals and faint breadiness. Crisp without being sharp. Nicely done.

A tall, frothy head of white forms over a clear, medium yellow body. Spicy mild hop aroma over a caramel malt base. Good average Pils.
