Bottle. Sweet caramel malt and floral citrusy hops aroma. Hazy golden amber with a ginormous soapy off-white head, which took forever to recede. Sediment suspended throughout. Light malt and piney citrus hops. Medium body, slightly dry finish. Very hops forward. Personally, I would have enjoyed it more with some additional malt to balance the hops.

12oz bottle from Chuck’s poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy orange with 2 fingers of frothy white head. Aroma is heavily citrus hops. Taste is heavily bitter. Pine and citrus with some nice grapefruit. Light bodied with a thin texture. Flat carbonation but a long bitter finish. Overall, very good. Something I would like to drink again.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed during the 2nd week of the NFL season on a rainy Sunday afternoon. This was bottled on Aug ’10 and consumed on Sept ’11, so I hope it’s still ’good’. Appearance a very very cloudy dark gold with a very frothy white head, possibly the most head out of a pale ale I’ve seen yet. Aroma is heavy on the citrus hops, almost a little too citrusy but it’s still nice, a bit sweet as well. Taste also pretty hoppy for a pale ale, dominated by the more citrusy hops. Medium body, above average bitterness for the style, carbonation I’d say is somewhere between average and above average. As it warms there’s a apricot flavor that comes through as well. To be honest I’m pretty happy with this one, good stuff. Above average pale ale.

On tap at 3rd & Main brewpub. Pours deep golden with small white head. Some lacing, medium carbonation, and sticky texture. Taste is complex hops.

Purchased at Trader Joe in Nashville on my trip there. Wow... huge off-white head, very long-lasting and creating patchy lacing all over. Pretty hoppy nose with some other fruits (apples, grapefruits, oranges). Colour is golden-amber with lots of carbonation. Very bitter start to the flavours with the hop being right in your face and then going through clementines. The hoppy bitterness stays the whole way through and into the long lasting aftertaste. I would have to say, this is a powerful American Pale Ale, well-balancing the bitter hop and the sweet fruits.

Bottle. Pours a odd and cloudy orange/brown with little head. Aromas of yucky grapefruit and yuck. Flavor seems to be based around a grapefruit hops presence, but just plain fails. This has no carbonation on the palate, hops are there, but they’re awfully done in the landfill of mess that is this beer.

Appearance: Orange-amber pour, about a half inch of frothy white head, light movement in the glass, decent amount of lacing
Flavor: Nice amount of hops, decently balanced from the malts, but the hops dominate in a good way...
Palate: An impressively full body considering the appearance, clean
Overall Impression: An enjoyable example of the APA style, I really liked this one...

12 ounce bottle from Market Street Wineshop Downtown Charlottesville. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing on the poor side. Sticky and toffeeish aroma with earthy citrus malt notes. Taste is bitter hops with earthy malt notes. Medium bodied.

Clear orangey brown color. Sparkles nicely. tea froth head. Olfactory hoppy pine. Hoppy bitter initial impression and obnoxious at times. Borders on IPA territory. Bitter back throat linger gets more intense as session continues. Oily at times. Rude awakening, you forget this stuff quickly after a bottle, will not purchase again. Too much for this lager lover.
