Bottle thanks to jamestulloch. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - mainly oranges. Some malt at the back. Taste - more of the same. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - solid ipa.

Another Green Flash IPA, promoting itself as ’bright and tropical’ and apparently hopped with hophead favorites Simcoe, Citra and Cascade. Cobweb-lacing, egg-white, densely structured, hops-enhanced, creamy head over a hazy deep golden beer with light orange hue, lightly hazy. Lush but subtle and delicate New World hops aroma of mouldy grapefruit, tangerine, mango, toasted onion, cooked carrot, white bread dough, some lemongrass and tropical orchids, watermelon, candied ginger, lychee, yellow kiwi, biscuit cake, chicken spices but something rainwater-like as well. Crisp, lively onset of tropical fruitiness without becoming too estery, hints of kiwi, starfruit, watermelon and pink grapefruit - the latter already subtly announcing a wave of citrusy hops to come. There is a dull, soft basic sourishness underneath and I even get a very brief, volatile green olive umami accent; carbonation remains softish, perfectly fit for a 6.5% IPA. Pale malt sweetness is enriched with bready, lightly caramelly and very subtly toasted aspects and provides a supple, lightly oily, graciously smooth mouthfeel leading to a drying finish of long lasting, spicy hop bitterness which deliberately refrains from becoming too harsh or resinous, but at the same time yields a wave of citrusy, tropical floral and lightly piney retronasal fragrance. Alcohol remains hidden, though a very slight warmth is palpable at the very end. Drinks away very easily and has exquisite appetizing properties; the hops are clearly intended to provide lush, tropical, abundant aromas here, more than throat-wrecking bitterness, and this goal has been achieved very well. Remains ’light’, elegant and quenching while still being very fulfilling. Cheers to Mike, you did a great job with this, once again...

Fat på Bishop, Gustav, Malmö. Smak och doft av humle, malt, citrus, persika, grapefrukt, tallskott. Lagom sötma, rund och len, fin beska med smak av citrusskal. Mums!

Clear light copper and bronze coloured body with a very thin tan head, only about a centimetre tall. Aroma of metal, light grass, herbs and a touch of citrus and very light tropical fruit - interesting and not too great. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal hop notes with not much malt body for support and none of the tropical or fruity flavours are noticeable at all - fairly mild across the board. Aftertaste shows some of the grass and herbs, but all you get here is grassy and dry hops with no malt nor complexity. Overall, i’m a bit disappointed with this one, since I was expecting a much more west-coastie IPA, but this was dry and herbal with no real character - sadly, this one is worth passing up, entirely! I sampled this Green Flash-styled twelve ounce bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 20-January-2016 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington on Super Tuesday, after voting in the state of Virginia on 01-March-2016.

Bottle bought in Liberty Wine Merchants. Aroma is piney, tropical fruits, notes of melon. Very bitter taste with tropical fruits and piney notes. Good, but compared to other Green Flash beers it could be more full-bodied.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with moderate head. Aromas of spicy tropical fruit, resin, salty toffee, and sweet malts. Flavors of dried fruit, pineapple, bitter citrus and dried toasted malts. And an odd hint of celery. Bitter, toasty finish. Quite nice.

bottle - Pours slightly hazy dark gold and has a big hop aroma with citrus and tropical fruits. The flavor is crisp and bitter with tasty citrus and tropical fruit and a good amount of sweet malt giving it some balance. Medium bodied. Really good IPA.
