You might say, a great beer is man’s other best friend. So when we made this German-style pilsner, it just made sense to name it after the brewery’s dog, Hans — our owner’s German Shorthair Pointer. Inspired by the pilsner beers of Northern Germany, Hans is crisp, brightly hoppy and full of flavor. At 50 IBUs and featuring Tettnang hops, it’s even hoppier than many pale ales. The German malt helps create a nice pale golden color and provides the perfect companion to the hops.

Can at home from Blutt59 although I see from JRedmond rate below I probably had at the FF tasting at Pauls but I dumped most all those ratings due to being drunk and not rating properly. Golden pour grainy nose. Tastes of grains, lemons, peppercorn, yeast, bready. Nice crisp slightly sweet. Nice

Can thanks to Micheal! Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of bitter grass with backing sweet grains and biscuit. Flavor has grassy hops with sweet grains underlying and a bit of biscuit.

Aroma: The nose is grainy malts, with some grass, and a little bit spice
Appearance: Cloudy golden color with a frothy white head and some mid-plus lace
Flavor: The flavor is grassy and a little bitter, light sweetness, and some noticeable spice
Palate: The body is medium, it has a tingly feel, lively carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty Pils. It is not an amazing beer, and the carbonation hurts the drinkability a touch, but it is still quite tasty.

Tap at the Ginger Man, Houston, 21/05/13. Clear blonde with a thin white head. Nose is citrus, grass, pale malts, lemon rind. Taste comprises light oeange notes, pale malt, citrus, light soap, grass, pinch of spice. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Ok pils.

Bonus beer courtesy of Terminus. 12oz bottle pours a pale slightly opaque gold with thin white head. The aroma offers up grainy malts to cereal notes as well as a bit of balancing citrus tartness in the background. The taste begins with a firm level of lemon to grapefruit citrus notes followed by a bit of floral hoppiness. Behind the hops I get a mild background of grainy maltiness and faint malt sweetness. It ends with grassy resin like hops and floral hops that ride into the after taste. Tasty hop forward Pils that is really sessionable. The overall flavor is just to my liking, not too sweet and above average hops.

Sample at Flying Saucer in Austin. Pours a clear pale yellow color with rising bubbles and a medium white head that evaporates quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbal hops and malt. Light, crisp body with flavors of mildly spiced hops, malt and a bit of fruit. The finish is lightly bitter with a floral hops aftertaste. Decent all around.
