Great Crescent Dark Lager is a present day interpretation of a beer identified as the first commercial beer in Indiana. A blend of North American malts and hops creates a rich and roasty flavor profile. This is an all American brew showcasing Cluster hops; the original American hops with a history all the way back to the 1600’s.

Sample at Twenty Tap. Dark brown color with a medium beige head that recedes quickly to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, grain and slight hops. Light to medium body with flavors of grainy malt, chocolate and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a short toasted malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Can courtesy of shrubber85, thank you sir! My first live rate in months, this helps relieve the withdrawl symptoms. Clear dark brown color, small tan edge head. Aroma of nitty burnt caramel on toast. Taste is bittersweet brownies. Light body. Decent.

tap at Dash In - Pours hazy amber-orange with a lingering off-white head. It smells of mild malt with some caramel. It’s sweet, light bodied, kind of watery, and better as it warms. There’s caramel and more yeast character than one usually finds in a lager. It has a bubbly mouthfeel and overall is an okay brew.

Can. Weak chocolate malt aroma. Deep chestnut with a large tan, quickly dissipating head. Roasty chocolate malt flavor with a light weedy bitter finish. Light carbonated body.

Can. Tinny chocolate malt aroma. Dark chestnut color with small head. Slightly sweet chocolate malt and mildly bitter herbal hops flavor. Not a bad tasting beer - pretty light though.

Can. Brown body with garnet highlights. Fizzy, beige head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, raw grain, grass, canned vegetables. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter, a bitterness that lasts into the finish. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The aroma is better than the flavor which is mostly the taste of roasted malts with a hint of canned corn. Thin, simple beer. Bitter in the finish and not much else. Just OK.
