This Burley interpretation of a 16th century German style Berliner-Weisse has undergone an initial pre-boil fermentation with lactobacillus bacteria to give it it’s signature dry, puckering and refreshing character. 55% of the grain build comes from wheat harvested in Snow Hill, MD, which gives this beer a full mouth finish.

Bottle shared on the booze bus during RBWG 2015. Cheers! Pours haze yellow with a creamy, white head. Nice tangy lemon character, mild lactic funk, light rindy lemon. Light bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Clean, quenching finish. Very tasty.

Tap@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - Orange pour with almost no head. Tart fruity with notes of apricot with some bretty herbal and floral notes, light to medium body, tart fruity finish.

From tap. Pours cloudy orange. Small white head. Aroma is grainy and sourish. Slight fruity. Sour, milky and fruity. Crisp fruity. Sour and lingering fruity finish.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma has a light acidity with hints of citrus and yogurt. Light to medium light wheat notes. Light fruit esters. Pours a hazy, pale golden color with a large, frothy, white head that recedes fairly quickly. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness that is nicely balanced with the moderate acidity. Some light lemon lime citrus notes with a touch of a yogurt flavor as well. Medium light wheat notes with some light tropical fruit esters. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice Berliner. Clean acidity with some unfermented sugars to balance it. Nice fruit esters and a good amount of wheat in the flavor and aroma.

Bottle during RBWG Booze Buse 20/02/15 thanks to whomever supplied this juan. Hazed golden topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is pissy citrics, tangy orange, lemon rind, spice, light acidic notes. Taste comprises lemon zip, straw, light vanilla, bitter citric, yeast notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, seim drying close with a light acidic scrub. Decent ’Linner, plenty of flavour for the ABV.
