75cl bottle from Meny Kolsås. Pours caramel brown to amber with an off-white head. Malty aroma with fruity and mildly bready and roasty notes, moderate caramel. Medium sweet with mild roasty flavours and a nice bitterness in the finish. Easy to drink and quite flavourful. One of the nicest shop strenght Christmas beers in Norway in my opinion.

750 ml bottle. Slightly unclear reddish brown body with a dense beige head. Aroma has malt, caramel, dry fruit and cellar notes. Flavor is a bit mild malty, hint of caramel, toast and moderate bitterness. Medium body and moderate aftertaste. Decent, but a bit straight forward British brown ale/bitter style ale.

Bottled (shared by omhper, thanks!). Amber colour, small off-white fluffy/bubbly head. Aroma is fruity, a bit wooden, resiny and sappy with quite strong caramel notes. Flavour is wooden, mildly toasted toffee, some caramel and a bit fruity as well. Pleasantly bitter flavour.

Some samples from a 0.75l bottle @ Kai-Sindre's (InBreak) wedding. This one pours a deep almost murky brown body with a lasting light tanned creamy head. Aroma has lots of dry cocoa, some chocolate malts and it's lightly sweet. Really nice actually. Lively carbonation, it has a thin and somewhat watery mouthfeel and it's quite light-bodied. Flavors are also dominated by that dry chocolate/cocoa found in the aroma, light yeast and it ends with some nice mild nutty flavors. Dry and kinda lasting aftertaste. Yeah, I quite liked this one, although it's not your "standard" Christmas ale. Did suffer a bit on the palate because of only the ABV 4.7%, so I'm really looking forward to trying it's big brother!

Bottle, 75cl. A gusher, producing an unclear, brown body and a foamy, two-finger head. Pleasant nose with roased malts, some chocolate and coffee and notes of hops. Big, malty flavor with chocolate, roasted malts and a little bitterness trying to bring balance. Not that it’s balanced, but it’s very tasty anyway. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. A pleasant and tasteful beer indeed, but it didn’t bring thoughts of Christmas. Not that I will refrain from drinking it just because of that. 110311
