The story of pilsner starts in 19th century Bohemia when a Bavarian monk smuggled a special yeast to a brewmaster in Pilsen. The story of pFriem Pilsner starts in the Pacific Northwest where it acquires the aroma of fresh grass and flowers and a touch of honey. While there are no monks involved in this pilsner, there is still a crisp and spicy finish.

12 oz can from Tavour, 12/19/19. Slightly cloudy golden, white head, spotty lacing. Herbal, grassy, a little spice, and some mild vanilla. Clean, slightly fizzy. Solid. 7/4/7/4/15 Update from 12 oz can from same Tavour order, 12/21/19. Getting a lot more crispness and bright citrus to go with the grassy hops. Vanilla thing isn't here at all this time, not sure what that was. Less herbal too. Much more what I was expecting so I gotta up there score. 8/4/8/4/17

Pour is a clear straw gold with a huge white head. Aroma is a real nice bready, wet dough malt. Very nice malts. Flavor is again a real nice doughy and slightly sweet malt with a little lemon drop hop. This may be one of the better pilsners I've ever had. Such great malt, so fresh and clean.

Tap at Goed Zuur. Very pale golden color, clear. Spicy hop nose, brilliant herbal, spicy hoppiness. Flavor is peppery, herbal Noble hops, very crisp malt backing it up. Great hoppy pilsner, spicy, lemony, with crisp, crackery malt. Really wonderful hop spiciness. Great stuff.

Keg at Bottlecraft - San Diego. Pours clear yellow with a frothy, pure white head. Nice aroma, pale biscuits, straw, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour with more rounded biscuity character, soft grassy bitterness, pale bread, hay. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Well balanced finish, more baicuits and hay. Nothing to fault here.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers, then dissipates. Lovely bready malts, grassy hay and light lemon. Mineral and grain on the palate. Crisp and clean and very crushable. Lingering peppercorn and leafy hops. In a sea of CBC nonsense, this pils was a lifesaver!
