Hazy brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige-ish off-white head; aroma of a bit too intensive yeast and alcohol, whisky, cognac notes, apple, biscuit, dried figs, cloves maybe walnut, too; taste of a bit burnt plum jam, raisins, burnt sugar notes, whisky, herbal liqueur bitterness and spicy alcohol; amazing 'beer' ! Many thanks for sharing, my friend, kapusil!

0.75l bottle. Hazy dark brown body with a beige head and floating sediment. Wood and oak comes first in the aroma, followed by cloves, toast, yeast, dark sugar and figs. Taste of plums, raisins, toast, oak, bourbon and some medicinal hops. Interesting that I would have thought that it was aged in bourbon barrels than in calvados. The taste is flawless, but the aroma is a bit too boozy. I like the non-oaked version too. This one is not necessarily better, but different. Like the other one this is awesome too.

Beige creamy head left a good cover on an opaque, rustic, finely carbonated body. Malt, cream & dark fruits aroma. You can definitely smell the Calvados. Medium to full bodied. Big & creamy on the palate with a highly effervescent, tingly back. Very malt forward tastes with dark fruits, apple, demerara & hints of vanilla.

Bottle shared at the March THT at Kwartje. Clear dark brown pour with a tan head. Notes of dried fruit, plums, nuts, raisins, candi sugar, cognac, oak and some light vanilla. Not bad!

Sampled from bottle at THT March at Kwartje. Dark amber with thin white head. Sweet malts, raisans, oak, dark honey, light spices, sugar cane. Big sweet, light bitter. Over medium body. Bit sticky. Quite enjoyable, lovely woody beer.

750 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of rich sweet malts, candi sugar, raisins, tobacco, and light spice. Flavors of dry sugary raisins, licorice, tobacco, calvados (ie alcohol), orange peel, biscuity malts and spice (ginger). Complex but thinner than original - which is much better IMHO.

Bottle. Amber color, with a suspension of yeast and fine creamy foam. Aroma excellent: esters, yeast and barrel, toffee, dough, sherry, dried fruit, plum wine, raisins, vanilla. Taste powerful: plum wine, vanilla, cake, bourbon or calvados. Great.

Bottle, my 2000th rating in 2016. It’s been a great ride this year, thanks to all the tickers who shared beers with me! Brown color with beige head. Aroma is oak, schnaps, dark malts. Taste is the same. Not as complex and not as balanced as the regular Abt 12. High carbonation. Still, a good beer!
