There is no doubt variety is the spice of life and we love going off in all kinds of directions looking for new flavors. Like all travel though at some point your heart turns back toward home. Home, robust American ales. This route travels along a path of piney American hops, Simcoe, Cluster, and Horizon their natural course coaxed toward spicy by a touch of rye. Drink Red Rye Returning because home is where the hops is.

Draft at the source. Cloudy amber color, tan head. Aroma of lightly siced caramel candy. Taste is sweet burnt caramel, almost creme brullee.

Tap at Stagshead during Carton night. Pours reddish with spicy nose. Tastes bready, malt, rye, white pepper, leather, piney hops and hint of oolong tea.

From tap at the brewery. Pours hazy brown with a small off white head. Aroma is roasted malty and breadish. Light bitter, toffee and breadish. Light herbal. Dry and roasted, vague sweet finish.

Draft. Pours reddish amber with off white head. Nose and taste of rye, sweet malt, toast and pineapple husk. Medium body.
