Bottle shared. Dark red with a small tan head. Aroma of red fruits, cherries, red ice lollies, light vinegar and light lactic funk. Flavour is above moderate sweet and above moderate sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

A bottle on Black Christmas 2016 at 12 Kings. Vintage 2013. Pours a cherry red with a rose head. Aroma is sour with cherry notes. Taste is dry, tart, with cherry and even some chocolate notes.

Sample at the Barrel House (as Sang Rouge). This beer pours a hazy reddish-amber color with a medium thick off-white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Patchy lacing. Oaky and fruity aroma with yeast and malt notes. Medium body with flavors of tart cherry, funky yeast, oak and malt. The finish is moderately tart with a cherry aftertaste. Good beer overall.

750 ml corked and caged bottle as Sang Rouge poured into a Spiegelau tulip. 2013 Project, 8.4% ABV. Clear dark ruby brown with 1.5 fingers of light tan head. Aromas of tart cherries, a little caramel, vinegar, a little alcohol, subtle funk. Tastes of cherries, dark fruit, vinegar, tart acidic notes, funk, oak. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Well masked alcohol. Tasty blend.

Draught @ Cascade Barrel House, Portland, OR. Pours dark reddish brown with a foamy white head. Aroma of vinous berries oak, wood, toffee, vanilla, tartness and mild sourness. Taste is smooth, oaky and slightly tart with some vinous berries, wood and vanilla. Finish is sweet, slightly sour and tart with some vinous berries, wood, oak and vanilla. Smooth and sweet, slightly sour.

Bottle courtesy of Karl. Pours tiny hazy reddish deep brown with a very small pale reddish beige head that doesnät leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty, fruity, tiny earthy and tiny funky with dark bread, caramel, lemon juice, raspberries, currants, dark grapes, dried cherries, moist hay, moist soil, leather, barnyard, balsamic, orange zest and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sweet, sour, malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly dry, tiny oily, tart, tiny mouth-puckering and medium bodied. Finish is sour with heavy tartness and mouth-puckering red berries. Bit too sour and a tiny bit too heavy on the vinegar but the malts provide balance and this is quite good.

On tap at Cascade. Deep amber with a large head. Aroma and taste of cherries, oak, funk and light vinegar. The finish was dry. A tasty one.
