Pours black, small, dark head. Smell is very weak' notes of... Cardemom ? Taste is sharp, very spiced indeed. Overly spicy, in my opinion. Médium thin bodied, médium to medium high Carbo. Bit of roasted grains on the very background. Very spiced, dried herbs, tad sweet. Not sure if very phenolic in the back, or spices just give that idea.

On tap at Uiltje Bar, 2016 version. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of massive spices, mainly cinnamon and ginger, soapy, caramel, some roast. Flavour is sweet, very spicy, again cinnamon and ginger, some chocolate, spicy bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Too much.

Thick, dense and fine beige-tan head over deep brown beer. Cinnamon a mile out; speculaas spices, very sweet nose, black candi sugar, even cola. Cinnamon so concentrated it helps to the bitterness. Still, enough dark malts, chocolate malts and probably even hops to counterweigh it. Sweetness, cola-like, is there, but a bit more held in check. Feels pretty carbonated, creamy feel from the head, medium bodied; Better than the white, but still overspiced. I want beer, not alcoholized cola.

Bottle, courtesy of the bro. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of raisins, brown bread and warming spices. Flavour of fruit cake and toffee. Medium body with a powdery texture. Soft fizz. The spice is subtle and definitely Christmassy. Very nice.
