Octoberfest’s decidedly malty flavor comes from a generous portion of Vienna Malts. The maltiness is balanced by German and Czech Republic noble hops for dryness. The balance between the malt and the hops and the long, cold (30 degrees F) maturation process make this an exceptionally drinkable beer.

Bottled. Pours brownish brown. Lots of maltiness and a clean finish. Not a bad marzen.

12 ounce bottle. 5.5% ABV. Amber orange with a small creamy beige head. Slightly grainy nose has some caramel. Flavor has more caramel malt with sweet notes. Nice spicy hops with grassy notes. Well balanced and smooth.

Very drinkable indeed. A very nice barley note to this, with some tinge of German hops and even a little saaz or something. Pours pretty murky brown for style. Light bitter barley finish. Very easy on the palate. Bottle.

355ml bottle [6.0% abv]. Clear amber colour with small to average, frothy, fading, off-white head. Cautious caramel malty aroma. Taste is caramel malty, dry, grassy hoppy overtones, a touch of hay and toothpaste. Poor example of its style.

Cask at Jake’s Place. It pours clear deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is brown bread, toast, dark sugar, toffee and dried fruit. The taste is quite sweet, toasted sugar, toffee, earth and wood with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. No depth to it.... Very so-so.
