We wondered what would happen if a monstrous pumpkin ale, plump full of spicy gourdiness, were aged in fine fresh rum barrels to add suggestions of delicate oak and candied molasses. Rumpkin is what happened! This first member of the Annual Barrel-Aged Series was brewed with roasted pumpkins from a local Boulder County farm, and spiced with nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger.

Bottle at home, bought in San Diego, in 2017. Consumed 1st November 18. Pours a light dirty orange. Aroma is boozy, pumpkin, Gozling Rum, dark and stormy, ginger, spice. Taste is ginger, rum, booze, spice, it's huge, like a beer, Dark and Stormy, ginger wine, lots of heat. Good fun for Hallowen

Draft at brewpub, dark copper in small snifter. Rum pumpkin spice aroma, boozy sweet malt taste, slow finish. Not harsh given the outrageous ABV.

Flaska från SB. Bärnstrnsfärgad, klar utan skum. Stor doft med mycket pumpkinpie, med kanel, kandisocker, torkade päron, punchpralin, vitt portvin, gula russin, lite glöggstuk fast ändå hyfsat balanserat. Annorlunda och gott.

On tap at 4th Avenue Pub, Brooklyn. Pours hazy dark orange with small white head. Lots of pumpkin, spicy, caramel, some rum, malty. Sweet. Soft carbonation. Full bodied. Warming, no unpleasant alcohol. Very nice, fantastic for ABV. Extreme, but for sure the best pumpkin I've tried.

17%, tastes like an 8% pumpkin ale, dangerous stuff and damn smooth. Rum notes throughout and on the back but not boozy. Pumpkin upfront.

Bottled 355ml (vintage 2016, Systembolaget)
Brownish colour, small off-white head. Aroma has strong "pumpkin" and allspice. Full-bodied. Very alcoholic and warming. Pumpkin, spices and rhum sweetness. Quite balanced but I am not a big fan of pumpkin (pumpkin pie spices) flavours. Slow sipper.
