750ml bottle. Unfiltered glowing orange-red body. Frothy, glass rimming off-white head. The aroma wasn’t that impressive, but I opened the beer more than 9 months after it was bottled. Some piny pine-sol rye hairspray action. Rich and big, with a pronounced Rye thing going on. Some IIPA tones of course, but mostly all about the oily, resinous Rye thing, which the chinook hops do complement. Pretty solid product. Burnt oily tones get to me after awhile. I’m just not so into 90% of Rye beers.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/31/2013. Pours slightly hazy orange copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with incredible retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, orange rind, pine, floral, caramel, spicy rye, bread, herbal, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop notes with a moderate malt balance and good rye presence; and good strength. Taste of tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, orange rind, pine, floral, caramel, spicy rye, bread, herbal, and floral earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pine, floral, caramel, spicy rye, bread, herbal, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance with good rye presence, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Double Rye IPA. All around great balance and complexity of hop and rye malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

750mL bottle, pours an opaque dark amber orange with a very large beige / tan head. Aroma brings out loads of tropical fruity notes, medium rye, and citrus hops. Very pungent flavours, full of grapefruit, moderate rye, and pungent citrus hops. Extremely well-rounded, with pungent rye and grapefruit. Finishes dry, with a fairly harsh astringency. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable, but not detracting in any way. Fairly lively carbonation, but it is fitting. Excellent stuff.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, lemons, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, dusty hops, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish.
