What kind of beer do you make when it seems that every beer you reach for on the shelf has a crazy amount of hops? You attempt to make something the complete opposite! Tons of malt? Check. High alcohol content? Check. Looking at our checklist, only one beer came to mind: Scottish Ale. For us, Aftermath is a beer for the Aftermath. Aftermath of a long work day. Aftermath of an off day at the softball field (which, for our skill level, is every game). Aftermath of sitting in traffic for far too long and always picking the wrong lane. Sit back. Relax. Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5
Dark ruby read with a creamy beige head. Aroma is Bready, toasted, caramel malts, butterscotch. Medium bodied with a decent amount of carbonation smothered in syrupy smoothness. Flavor is sweet malty, bready, butterscotch, caramel, and lightly toasted. Pretty solid Scottish ale but maybe a tad on the sweet side. Good stuff.
