12 oz. bottle. Pitch black motor oil like pour, thin mocha colored head, decent leg of lacing. Licorice, coffee, chocolate, roast in the aroma. Flavor is solid with a solid chocolate base, some licorice touches, mild dark fruit, a mild hint of char. The mouthfeel is not quite as full as I look for but the flavor is really good! Nicely enjoyable.

Not bad. Very bitter with a little lingering sweetness. Some medicinal qualities under the cocoa, black patent, hint of molasses. Little out of balance on the bitter side for me.

On tap at the brewery. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of dark grains and roasted malts with a hint of coffee and a touch of dark fruits. Flavor combines bitter dark grains, roasted malts and a touch of coffee underlying.

Refrigerated 12 oz. bottle poured into a glass. Black with small beige head. Aroma is dark malt, medium body, medium carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is dark malt, roasty, some herbal hops, and bitter dry finish.
