12 ounce can. Copper red color. Frothy tan head. Tangy toasted malt nose. Sweet toasted malt flavor upfront hints at red berries and caramel. Thin bodied, but flavorful. Earthy, nutty notes in middle. Sweet, sticky malt finish.

From Dec 2007

I got this bottle in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John!

This beer pours from 12oz bottle a clear deep amber with a good 2 finger head of foam and lots of sticky lacing.

The smell is of roasted and caramel malt and is nice on the nose.I can also smell just a touch of hops.

The taste is very nice. Roasted malt and good caramel sweetness offset by a nice mild hop bite in the background make for a very tasty, smooth, and easy drinking Red Ale. Oh, there's a touch of chocolate(?) in the flavour that I wasn't anticipating. Very nice indeed. It has a medium mouthfeel and the carbonation is also medium.

This certainly isn't your run of the mill example of the style! Very good stuff!

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head. Sly messy lace.
The aroma had some grassy hops, nice caramel malt base, some bready/biscuity sweetness. Sly earthiness.
The flavor melds the earthiness to the grassy hops. Malt base is there to balance sweetly. Rugged malt aftertaste. Semi-dry malty finish.
On the palate, good session, nice feel, not too sticky on my tongue. Good carbonation.
Overall, nice Irish red ale, willing to have again.
