Obsidian-black with a velvety, tan head, our Milk Stout is brewed with non-fermentable lactose sugar for a luscious, full-bodied mouthfeel. Aromas of bittersweet chocolate, dried fruits, and bold coffee-and-cream flavours all descend on the senses, while soft roasted-malt bitterness keeps the sweetness in check.

HOPS: Fuggles, Green Bullet

Rocky light brown head left a spotty cover on a mahogany coloured body. Treacle, toffee & parkin aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy with a lively clean back. Liquorice, treacle, toffee, jam & malt tastes with a hoppy finish. Apparently sold on Cask - would love to try that.

99p(!!!) from Home Bargains Inverurie and still has a month on it. It pours black with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, earthy roast, creamy milk chocolate, maltesers, toffee, mars bar and coffee grounds. The taste is initially dry, bitter - sweet, toasty, earthy roast, sticky toffee, fudge, milk chocolate, peppery spice, charred action, burnt toast and riesen chocolate. Finish is sticky dry and roasty. Medium body and average carbonation. Perfectly decent milk stout.

328ml bottle delivered by the Blue Boar, Leicester and drunk at home. Very dark brown, opaque with a ring of tan head. Creamy chocolatey aroma, a touch of ash. Sweet taste, again very creamy and smooth, with a more bitter finish with blackberry overtones. Thick creamy (can I use that word three times?) body, light to medium carbonation. Gets better with each sip.

Draft. A black beer with a brown shine under a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, milk chocolate and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, milk chocolate, and a bit of coffee, leading to a bitter finish.

15/6/2019. Bottle from Eel & Bear, Hastings and shared at the Prague GP bottle share. Pours almost black with a creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, nut, lactose and caramel. Medium plus sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Decent quality milk Stout.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Black-brown colour with reddish tinge, no head and sweet roast malty aroma. Taste is roasty, malt, ashy with milk chocolate & coffee notes, and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasted bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Black beer, light brown head. Light smell of malt and lactose. Nicely balanced flavour, with some of the creamy sweetness to it but enough dry malt so it's not sickly and this carries through to the finish. Not special, but a very drinkable milk stout.
