Brewing innovation is about asking "what if?". What if we gave an IPA a new identity and used some of our favorite West Coast hops, with their grapefruit, piney, & tropical fruit character, in a lager? The result is this boldly hoppy & and flavorful brew with the crisp smoothness of a lager. Cheers!

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a three finger off white foamy head lasts for a good three minutes, speckled slightly foamy spider web lacing graces the pilsener and leaves some rings, slowly moving carbonation is seen rising.
The smell had some grassy hops up front, slight pepper tones in the back and slightly underneath are the malts.
The taste had a nice peppery/spiciness as the hops and malts combine to give a good hoppy kick.
The palate was about a medium, sessionable, some slight harshness on the tongue, no aftertaste, sticky finish.
Overall, this is a nice pale lager that I would come back to, too bad my whole six pack is gone.

12oz bottle from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. Amber with a tight cream head; pleasant tropical fruit aroma with a touch of pine; full bodied with pineapple and grapefruit flavours; and a crisp, resinous finish. A great concept, and a good beer.

Honey, grass, and lemongrass nose. Crystal clear amber, thick sticky head. Medium body, soft carbonation. Metallic and grassy. Has some nice attributes, but I don’t get what they are trying to accomplish. In the end, I didn’t really enjoy it all that much.

Bottle hazy golden light amber with a nice lasting dense off-white head. Typical aroma of a macro-micro attempt at a West coast IPA. Piney and floral but somehow a b it cardboard and stale. Flavor is lees so, more subdues hop flavors, but balanced with the light malt of a pale lager. Some sweetness still and very drinkable. This hopped up PL with a little more FG works fairly well, though I am not sold on the "style" per se’

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, best by July 2013 oops, poured into a glass. Pours light copper with off-white head. Aroma is nice fruity hop aroma, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is caramel malt, fruity hops, crisp herbal hops, some pine, and malt backbone. This beer holds up well.

This seems to be the new cool thing in brewing now, a lager that is supposed to taste like an IPA. My question naturally is, "why not just have an IPA". Not liking it too much.

Bottle. A- Spices, herbs, grains. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Heavy bitterness, medium malts, subtle fruit tones. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, long bitter finish. O- I was hoping this might be a change from an IPA but it seemed that to me there wasn’t much of a difference which was a disappointment for me.

Bottle at home in Salisbury. Pours crystal clear, rich gold, effervescent, with a strong, frothy off-white head. Nose has tangerine, melon, pine needles. Light sweet flavor with decent piney hop character, along with moderately dry pale malts, melon, grapefruit, mildly pithy citrus. Light bodied with average carbonation. Reasonably well balanced to finish, some oily hops, dry pine, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon rind. Not bad at all.

This a well executed and gorgeous beer. Pours dark gold with towering, fluffy head. Aroma of hops, like an IPA. taste is hops with a malt backbone. This a really excellent beer.
