Inspired by the northern brewing tradition of flavoring beer with juniper boughs, we created Odin’s Gift, a deep ruby colored ale brewed with a touch of juniper berries. Rich caramel and roasted malt flavors compliment earthy hop aroma to produce a beer that easily pairs with a variety of foods.

Can - Cocoa and toffee notes. Deep amber with a decent beige head. Cocoa and some toffee. Not sure where they are going with this, rich and malty with lots of cocoa.

On tap at Odin brewing. Pours out a crisp amber topped with a sand head. Nose is light grain some bread and a caramel sweetness. Taste is more of the light grain and a touch of caramel.

Growler from Albertsons. Seeing a wide variety of scores here, and I’ll go with the downside, average at best, with a flat metallic finish. Might be closer to a brown ale than an amber, but that wouldn’t improve any scores....

12oz bottle poured into my wedding 6oz tasting glass. My wife bought this a little while ago in a mix-6 from TJs. I had little desire for the beer. I did not think this brewery would make anything interesting in this style, additionally juniper scares me. It pours with a small but tight head that maintains. Upon the first sniff I was surprised by the beer. First, no strong juniper. Then no strong hops flavor. Finally, a strong malt character. Is it possible, an amber ale that isn’t hop-centric or flabby on the malt? Well, it is. Earthy and a bit cocoa. The flavor has an addition of lightly bitter hops and just a light herbal character (juniper?). It offsets the strong malt character. Thick body (for the style)with a bit of tingling carbonation.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out bready malt and light earthiness. Flavour is dry and stale, with earthiness and bready malts. Not good at all. Very weak with off-flavours.
