Our take on a Belgian Table Beer, Primus was the first house recipe brewed in our facility back in 2013. Company founder, Eric Michaud, travelled the world through his college years and fell in love with European drinking culture where low abv beverages are shared with friends and guests at all gatherings. This is especially true in Belgium, where most everyday activities start or end with a beer and social camaraderie. We encourage you to embrace this tradition and share this bright refreshing beverage with your own friends and family. Cheers!

Brewery draught, 6/16/22. Clear, marigold-tinted-blonde with a medium-sized, white head showing moderate retention. Trappist yeast in the nose is strong and fruity with must and mineral and light wax and vanilla. Herbal and grassy hops with light pepper and rustic grains. Similar flavor full of yeast character: apple, pear, wax and vanilla with rustic grains and a medium body with soft malts and good attenuation. It's very, very yeast forward and not my absolute favorite expression of it, but the hops are a nice respite.

Keg at Novare Res - Portland. During the Duke stag. Pours clear gold with a tight, creamy white head. Flaked wheat in the nose, hay, mild yeast expression. Light sweet flavour, very clean, with a little grassy bitterness, bread crust. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderately drying in the finish, with some more crispy wheat, bread crust, grass, tangerine rind. Solid.

Sample at the brewpub. Slightly hazy golden color with a medium thin white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of peppery yeast, fruit, malt and a touch of hops. The finish is fruity with a Belgian yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft sample at Great Lost Bear. Mostly clear golden color with thin white head. Aroma is milled grain on top of lemons and Brett. Brettanomyces was not used in this beer. Dirty funky tap line?

Flavor shows a very mild yeast character that comes off VERY lemony. Almost like a lemon floor cleaner. I don’t taste any hops at all does all this lemon come just from the yeast? The carbonation is very soft without much mouthfeel. Something about this is just slightly off.

Tap at the brewery during my honeymoon. Some lemon. yeast; and fairly light all around. minimal hops, but they are perceivable, and it is refreshing. The yeast and hops blend well, and I like to see a brewery attempting this relatively uncommon style.
