Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates quickly. Huge black and pink peppercorn nose with some light green pepper plant aromas as it warms. Peppery and spicy palate with saison esters mixed. Lingering black pepper and crackery malt. Awful idea and fairly unpleasant beer overall. --- Beer merged from original tick of Oddland Peppercorn Saison on 07 Jun 2019 at 10:35 - Score: 5. Original review text: Unbalanced and way too much peppercorn for my liking.

Bottle shared at Freetail. Pours a hazy orange gold with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is yeast, strong pepper, citrus. Thin body, pepper, funky, yeast, spice finish, good.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 650ml ($9): Pours golden with a nice white head. Aroma is of funky yeast, fruitiness. The pepper didn’t really hit it for me until I tasted the beer. At first, it is sweet, dry, and a bit funky, but then the peppers hit pretty hard towards the end. Really, this is the most peppercorn beer I have ever had. Not bad, but perhaps too spicy.

Bomber. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. Looks appealing. A sweet fruity and caramel nose. Big peppery spicy peppercorn, really spicy at times, sweet mellow Saison base, pretty hoppy, caramel. Interesting. Unique. I love the base more than the pepper which is huge.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/3/13
Aroma: The nose, unsurprisingly, has a ton of pepper, yeast, other spices, and a little grass
Appearance: It pours a hazy golden-orange color with a small head and plenty of lace
Flavor: The taste is quite peppery, with lots of spice and yeast, and some mild grassy hops
Palate: The body is medium, it has a tingly and spicy feel, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: My first from this series. I'm happy to see a new series from Elysian, as I enjoyed the Apocalypse series quite a bit. This is tasty. One-dimensional, and clearly intentionally so, but still, tasty. I hope I find the rest of this series.

Bottle @ home picked up at Supermarket Foco. Pours a hazy orange appearance with a thin off white head that doesn’t have much retention. Very spicy black pepper, spicy yeasty, orange fruity aroma that isn’t all that appealing. Tastes like someone dumped a pepper shaker into my beer, some citrus and yeast notes but mostly just garbage pepper flavor. Yikes! Pass.

This beer pours a hazy golden color with a medium foamy ivory white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pepper and bready malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of biscuit malt, peppercorns and a touch of yeast. The finish is spicy with a peppery yeast aftertaste. Borderline too far into the peppercorns but I like how they walk the line there. Above average overall.
