Rolle Bolle is a wonderfully fun Belgian yard game and a delightfully easy summer ale. Brewed with monk fruit and soursop it stays true to the Belgian tradition of playing with beer and all that goes into it. Roll on.

On tap at The Ginger man. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is wheat, honey, spice. Medium mouth with similar flavors to nose, decent.

Very light haze on this pale gold beer, good white head. Palate is light and a little crispy. Very light pale malt with mellow lemony lime floralness, Finishes smooth. Not bad.

Bottle. A- Tropical fruits, wheat. A- Pale gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Slightly bitter, slighly sweet, medium sourness, tropical fruits, spices. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- If you are unfamiliar with monk fruit or soursop, this beer might have an off taste. Overall, it’s nicely done.

Pale golden with medium fluffy head. Aroma of hay, flowers, honey. Taste is sweet and flowery, light but snappy. Finish is short with some lingering light hoppiness.

$1.68 bottle from Trader Joe’s, Charlottesville. Pours clear light gold with 2" of fluffy white head. Smells of sweet grass, pepper, lemon, and light orange. Tastes of light grasses and even lighter fruits. Not great but it’s refreshing.

tap on 5/12/13 - Pours clear gold with a dense white head and an aroma of citrus and mild, indistinct malt. The flavor is of sweet malt with mild to moderately bitter hops that leads into some lingering bitterness in the finish. It’s light bodied with lively carbonation, a good, refreshing beer.

Bottle, 12oz. A clear, golden beer with a small, dense, white head. Lightly hoppy aroma, some pale malts and piney, fruity notes. The flavor isn’t pronounced enough I think, but still with enough bitterness compared with the sweetness and other flavors. Still, not enough flavors and aromas. Full body, soft carbonation. Bitter finish, but as the rest of the beer, a bit weak. Well, I might moderate myselv a bit. The beer presents itself as a boring IPA or APA when drank, but then the brewery seems to sell it as a pale Belgian Ale. Not sure what to think, It works only halfways as both. But it’s a decent beer anyway. 130815
