Riptide white IPA is a beer brewed with a malt body similar to a Belgian style Wit with loads of torrified wheat. It’s hopped like an IPA, but we use a unique blend of Czech Saaz, French Strisselspalt, Calypso, Centennial and Cascade hops to create a big citrus nose and flavor with floral accents. To complete the feel of the wit style, we push the beer through our hopback which is loaded with Spanish sweet orange peel, Curaçao bitter orange peel, coriander, and a generous helping of hops. It’s fermented with a classic Belgian Wit yeast which provides all of the fruity and spicy notes you’d expect. We then blast the tank with our hop cannon which is loaded with Calypso, Strisselspalt, and Citra hops and more orange peel. The beer is then lightly filtered to retain all of the exceptional yeast character.

Bottle. Strong Belgian yeast, wheat malt, orange, black pepper, clove, and coriander aroma. Hazy straw gold with a large dense off-white head. Very fruity, orange, wheat malt, Belgian yeast, citrus peel, coriander, black pepper, and herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. There’s a lot going on in this one .. nicely done.

On tap at the bocktown. looks like hefe but the smell is hefe and ipa perfume. Odd spicey olfactory. Smell is that of BO and banana. On the buds, this mix does not go well together IMHO. Think bubble gum flavored hops. Not impressed.

Pours nearly clear apple-gold with a short, thin tan head. Aroma is sweetly malty, orange, hops. Taste is like a Belgian Wit but hopped like an IPA..... citrus, florals, orange, wheat.... Very good and different.

12 ounce bottle from House of 1000 Beers, New Kensington. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized foamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong cloves and other spice, wheat, citrus and herbal hops. The taste is citrus hops, caramel, wheat, spice. Medium bodied, well balanced. Nice hoppy wit.
