Alcohol-free variation on Hoegaarden Witbier since 2011 with the basic ingredients of a witbier plus citrus extracts. Thin white head, colour yellow blonde, light hazy with fierce sparkling. Citrussy aroma, artificial, lemonade, wheat and coriander, apple juice, honey. Sweet lemonade-like taste, industrial lemon juice, bit wheaty, more ’beery’ than usual in this style, thin and watery still, with light sourish freshness. More a soda pop than a beer but I had many worse alcohol-free beers. Nevertheless I am glad to read in the newspapers that it did not deliver the commercial success AB InBev had hoped for.

25/VII/13 - 33cl can @ my parents' place - BB: 27/V/14 (2013-666) Thanks to my dad for splitting this, would've been a waste if I opened one just for myself ;-)
Little cloudy orange to pale beige beer, small fizzy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: typical Hoegaarden smell, lots of coriander, wheat touch, grains, bit of citrus peel, some oranges. MF: soft carbon, light body. Taste: sweet sugary start, bit of grains, sourish, lemony touch, slightly bitter. Aftertaste: lots of coriander, spicy, still sugary, lemony touch.

Can. A hazy, yellow-orange beer topped by a small, dense, white head. Rather lemony nose, almost like a radler, leaving little room for coriander, wheat and orange peel. In the flavor the lemon is weaker, but still overpowering the other flavors one expect from a Hoegaarden. Medium body, quite dry. Quite drinkable, but it’s not much beer flavor or aroma going on. 120818
