On tap at The Star & Garter, Bromley. Nose is citrus, white pepper, bitter herbs, tropical fruit. Taste is lemon marmalade, pithy orange, more white pepper. Light hoppy approach with a lingering sweetness.

On tap at The Kernel, pours a minimally hazy bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma is fragrant, with soft piney, woody hops and a crisp biscuity malt base. Flavour is smooth and fragrant, with lots of piney, woody hops, light floral notes, and biscuity malt. The base beer is so damn good that the hop expression is ideal: Simcoe hops in all their glory. Excellent.

(Draught at Kernel Taproom Arch 7, Bermondsey, London, 20 May 2023. 5.7%) Golden colour with brief, foamy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of lemon peel, grapefruit, resin and grass. Fruity, hoppy taste with grapefruit, lemon, passion-fruit, resin, grass, white bread and a balanced herbal/citric bitterness. Crisp and clean with a good hop profile. Very nice.

Keg draught at Ghost Whale Putney. Mid yellowish gold, perhaps a tiny haze with a ring of white head. Hoppy aroma with a fair bit of citrus and some light apricot. Taste is balanced with an astute bitterness ushering the finish. Getting a lot more stone fruit here. Medium carbonation. Perhaps more subdued that many Kernel pales but all the better for it.

Clear yellow appearance with thin head. Aroma and flavour have slightly grassy hop notes with a touch of citrus peel. Nicely dry. Good thirst quencher.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Pours clear yellow-gold with a lively, frothy, pure white foam head. Lightly sweet with lovely hop character, soft lemongrass, a little tangerine, subtle bitter citrus rind and pine, lean pale malts. Light bodied with average carbonation. Clean finish, subtly drying, a little more grass, pale bread, tangerine rind, pine needles. Massively drinkable.
