This top fermenting amber-colored ale is brewed using generous amounts of malt and kettle hops. The trademark of this ale is its beautiful hop bouquet and taste that comes from a liberal dry hopping of the highest grade Cascade hops during the secondary fermentation. The malt firmness of this ale comes from the perfect mixture of two-row malted barley, carapils, and caramel specialty malts. The ale has an original gravity of 1060 and is fermented at 65 degrees farenheight which imparts the classic ale fruitiness to the brew.

Draft at lakefront brewery. From notes. Loads of herbal hops dominate. A hint of caramel malt in the finish. Pretty good.

Bottle - Nice mellow hop orange nose with a bit of caramel sweetness. Pale clear gold with a minimal head. Although the hops are there, the caramel and malts are overwhelming. If you prefer a malt forward ale with some hops this is what you are looking for, I prefer it the other way around. I also get a bit of booze at the finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/25/12

Aroma: The nose has some orange/citrus, a little spice, and some toast and yeast
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste has some orange and caramel malt sweetness, with a lightly bitter finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a slightly creamy, drinkable feel, and soft-to-average carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid one, though it is a little on the boring side. Still, this is a drinkable beer, with some decent components to it.

American Beer Distro six-pack ($9): Thick white head over a ratehr light amber body with some haze up in it. Grapefruit aroma with a malt backbone. Taste is at first really fruity, with some underlying hop presence, but as the beer warms up the caramel malts start to become more present for me. There are some slight metallic notes in there as well. Rather flavorful, and not a really boring APA.

Pour is a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is some hops and malts. Not much to say about it. Flavor is a little better as the hops are more abundant. Slightly citrus with some grainy malts. This is about an average pale ale as your going to get, not that there is anything wrong with it.

Bottle. Pours with a...gusher?! WTF. Why the hell do I rate at my computer. Thank god for trash cans right next to it. Who would have expected a damn pale ale to gush?! Cleaned up. Big white head. Hazed golden body. Aroma is odd, possibly infected. Windex, citrus, pitted fruit. Strong solvent. Taste is faded, eww. Finishes metallic and slightly sour. What a mess. Infected. Fizzy. What the hell!
