When Pig’s Ears wholesale got in touch to see if we’d work with them on a project brewing 7 miles, we jumped at the chance, especially as we were teamed up with the amazing Abyss Brewing. This beer saw us develop a deep, complex malt base featuring Maris Otter, Light Munich, Torrified Wheat and a variety of crystal malts for a robust nutty flavour. With the addition of invert sugar No2 and a 2hr boil we developed the caramel notes even further. Hopped entirely with English whole leaf varieties, Challenger and Bramling Cross, we sought to push the hedgerow berry character and the spicy, bitter finish.

On tap at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Reddish black pour with a beige head. Generals gathered in their masses..rich aromas of molasses, plus cola, liquorice toffee, raisin, dark fruits. Taste is chocolate, dark fruits, liquorice toffee, raisin. Sweet malty finish. Heavy stuff.
