Narragansett Lager is old reliable. It was the first beer brewed by “The Original Six” back in 1890, and the best selling beer in New England from the 1930’s to the 1970’s. It has crossed paths with Dr. Seuss, it was famously crushed by Captain Quint in Jaws, and it was the first alcoholic beverage to partner with a professional sports team – the Boston Red Sox from 1944-1975. Tap. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is mildly buttery, sweet grains, not much hops there. Oily mouthfeel, low carbonation. Alright, I got this mainly for the Rhode Island tick.

Draft: Poured a golden with a white head. Aroma is grainy, grassy. Taste is malty grain, semisweet, grassy, corn, citrus.

Exactly what it should be: a basic adjunct lager, no more, no less. Notes of grain, cracker, and sweet corn. Mild finish. Better than a Bud Light.

16oz can pours out pale straw topped with a white head. Nose is sweet grain some grassy hops. Taste is more of the light grain notes and grass.

meh. Clear gold pour with a white head. It has a light, grainy aroma and taste with minimal hops. I guess it’s not terrible. It’s pretty pointless though.
