Sampled on draft at the Media location this beer poured an almost black color with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dryish with brewed coffee and wood. The flavor was dry and bitter with sourish coffee and wood. Very long finish. Medium body. Meh.

On tap at the Maple Shade brewpub. A brown, almost clear beer topped by a light beige head. The aroma has coffee, chocolate and roasted malts, quite balanced. There’s some bitterness and sweetness in the flavor, but it’s mostly roasted malts giving you chocolate and coffee. Smooth, dry and full to medium bodied and with a lasting finish. A nice beer, but more a brown ale than a porter I think. 150623

Had this at the lancaster pub. probably the best beer out of all the samples. Nice dark look. Very good tasting mild and friendly roasty effetcs. Smell is just good old plain mildly burnt wood. Never over the top. Yes, an overall really good beer, very enjoyable. Nicely done.
