Bottle, total wine. Dark brownish black rootbeer color. Smells malty, and then a little metallic nose. Taste is darkly dull and seems to have more alky than 5%. Leather, then perhaps a tiny amount of baking cocao in thar. Overall, not bad but for only 4%, you’d think it would be more civilized.

Draft - Toffee and toast with some berry notes. Deep dark brown with a light beige head. Lots of toasted malts with a hint of chocolate. Not bad.

A: Very dark garnet brown. Very little beige head. Fair retention though and a bit of lace. S: Sweet chocolate and raisins mainly. A little roast T: Bitter chocolate with just a faint sweetness. A fruit note on the finish. Pretty good flavor. M: Light body. Low carbonation. Creamy oats or cocoa powder feel to finish. Easy drinking. O: Not bad. Thin bodied but I like the low ABV. Worth buying again.

Pecan nose. Brown, thin tan head. Sweet nutty, grainy flavor, a little cardboard. Medium body. Has issues, but it was quite enjoyable.

Pours cloudy brown with good head and lacing. Not much going on here. Finishes with light sweetness. A little water, with some light roast. Tap at DC Beer festival.
